#4. You continue to grow in emotional closeness, physical intimacy, and spiritual unity.

#5. You laugh together, even about your differences.

#6. You genuinely appreciate the strengths your spouse has that you lack.

#7. You are each other’s biggest fans and cheerleaders, supporting one another’s interests.

#8. You don’t keep secrets.

#9. You keep creating new, fun, and romantic experiences together.

#10. You share habits of praying, worshiping, and serving side by side.

If many of these are true in your marriage, be thankful—it’s a sign the gospel of Jesus Christ is bearing fruit in your covenant.

If the list feels out of reach, don’t be discouraged. Start small. Ask God for help in just one area. As you make progress there, you’ll often see the whole relationship begin to flourish.
